I enjoyed this book. Although I did find it a bit harder to get into than the books in the Elemental Mysteries (EM) series. This book basically tells you what Carwyn was doing when he wasn't with Gio and B in the EM books.
It also introduces some new characters like Brigid, as well as letting us get to know other members of Carwyn's family. As well as this you kind of see more of the fall out of the events in Rome and a bit of what really came next once they all thought the Lorenzo issue was dealt with.
I recommend reading the Elemental Mysteries series before this just for some back story and to understand the events and character relations in this book.
Very enjoyable.
