Book Review: The Doctor's Nanny by Emerson Rose

The Doctor's NannyThe Doctor's Nanny by Emerson Rose
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was another book that I had downloaded for free, that I chose to start reading after having a DNF book. I was looking for something that would be predictable and mindless that I could read quickly, and this looked like it was going to fit the bill.

I was so wrong! I thought this was going to be one of those books that was written well enough that the typos were at a minimum, young woman plus sexy alpha male doctor plus them spending 75% of the book in the bedroom equals a happily ever after. Now this book did have a young woman, sexy alpha male doctor and a HEA but they did not spend 75% of the time in the bedroom. It was NOT predictable in the slightest. I was not prepared for the characters to have so much depth to them. As much as this was a romance, and with these sort of books that normally means sex every other chapter, this story focused a lot more on the relationship aspect. It was interesting to see how throwing a five year old child into the mixed creates a different dynamic between the characters.

I loved the way the relationship developed between not just Sasha and Xavier but also between Sasha and Victoria (Xavier's daughter). The father/daughter relationship was also nice to see, as it was believable and not something that is often focused on in these types of stories. Great characters aside, this is really well written, with a good pace and flow that makes for easy reading. As well as this there is a pretty good story line underneath everything that keeps the whole thing progressing nicely.

I really enjoyed reading this and would recommend it if you are looking for something that is quick to read but still has a bit of depth to it.
