Review: Circus of the Damned

Circus of the Damned Circus of the Damned by Laurell K. Hamilton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another good book that isn't too taxing on the brain.

In this book we get to delve a bit deeper into the vampire politics of St. Lois. There has been a shift in roles in the Vampire world Not mentioning names cause, you know, spoilers) and now there is some new guy in town. A vampire older than anything that Anita has ever seem before, and he's bought some friends that are of a species everyone thought of as extinct. On top of this, a new anit-vampire group wants Anita to assassinate the new Master of the city. Chuck in a handful of near death experiences and you have a pretty tasty read.

The Jean Claude/Anita relationship develops in this book and some new characters of the furry kind are introduced, which is sure to become something interesting in future books. This book again, has more of an equal focus on the plot and characters, (this was something I felt lacked in the first)

With this series you need to have read all of the previous books in order to understand what is going on, and the significance of the events and character relationships. You could easily get yourself confused if you haven't. I would definitely recommend this series to anyone that likes gore, sarcasm, and paranormal stuff in general.
