Review: Blood Noir

Blood Noir Blood Noir by Laurell K. Hamilton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book. Mainly because it revolves around Jason.

Jason has been told that his father is dying from cancer, and wishes to see him one last time before he dies so that they can make up. Anita joins Jason posing as his girlfriend on this little out out town adventure. But as per usual in Anita's life, thing don't go exactly to plan. Someone from Jason's past is getting married in town. Unfortunately this someone is kind of a local and nearly a spitting image of Jason and it's going to cause major problems.

Most of the other characters aren't really in this book. Nathaniel is in the first dew chapters, Micah has a brief phone conversation with Anita at the start. Richard and Jean-Claude make more of an appearance in the middle-ish part of the book. This isn't a complaint. I love Jason, he's one of, if not, my favourite characters. We see a bit more of who Jason really is behind the happy exterior and the flirting.

If they didn't have enough problems as it is, Marmee Noir decides to mess with Anita and co. This creates some issues on a metaphysical level that Anita could probably do without. Resolving these issues won't be quick or easy either.

This book has plenty of action, plenty of funny moments and plenty of Jason.
