Book Review: The Surprise by Alice Ward

The Surprise The Surprise by Alice Ward
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was surprisingly (no pun intended) a very good book. I won't lie, when I first downloaded this I was apprehensive and totally expected this to have terrible writing, with shallow characters, and cheesy dialogue. Dear God was I wrong.

Alice Ward has a fantastic writing style, that has a natural flow to it, and that is also very engaging. I found this so hard to put down. The characters were also incredibly well written, and I liked the fact that our Alpha male billionaire character, Langston, didn't stick to the cliches. I liked that he didn't want people to know he came from money. I also liked Scarlett's character and her personality and think that their individual characters work really well together.

I thought that this was a well paced story, and at no point did it feel cheesy. I was a little surprised when the story ended at 29%, but still feel that the story I read was a decent length. (factor in that the other 71% is two bonus stories, and I don't feel that I should complain to much).

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, and would recommend this author to romance readers looking for a HEA.
