I got this from a instafreebie email, with a preview of books 2 and 3. This isn't something that I would normally read but I did some googling and it had pretty good ratings, so thought I might as well give it a go.
Now I'm not going to lie, I really wasn't sure about this as I started reading it. Ivy, at first impression, was a bit whiny and Jacade, well put it this way; if I had rolled my eyes anymore they would have rolled right out of my skull. However, I decided to stick with it and give it a chance and I'm really glad that I did. Seriously people stick with this book, once I really got into the story I was not disappointed.
I think that this book really sets up the characters and story. These are clearly characters that have complex pasts and there is a lot of mystery created around this that draws you in. You get details here and there that show a different side to the characters but it is not immediately clears as to how all the pieces go together.
As soon as I finished this book i had to go buy the boxed set as I need to know what happens next. Trust me, when you read the ending of this one you'll do the same.

This was fast paced with a lot of action, that made it an un-put-down-able read (I read this in one sitting, best use of a Sunday if you ask me.)
There was plenty of character development in this installment, that sees the dynamic between Ivy and Jacade grow. You also learn more about their past and start to see how all of the pieces fit together. With this new knowledge comes seeing a different side to Uncle Bernard and Aunt Helen; there were certainly things about them revealed that I didn't see coming.
I really liked how the ending of this book showed a different side to Jacade, as I think it'll add a slightly different feel to the next book as well as making him a more well rounded character. We also see a different, more determined, strong willed version of Ivy as she confronts her past.
I really couldn't put this one down. This has turned out to be a surprisingly good series so far.... Now on to the next one.

So this was a fantastic end to a surprisingly good series.
We finally get all of the puzzle pieces put together in this last installment of the series. Another gripping fast paced story that was totally un-put-down-able. We got to see a different side to the characters in this one that really showed off their development and kept the story moving and interesting.
I've really enjoyed reading this series. The characters are well written and the story is well balanced with the romance, and too much is never given away at once, always leaving you wanting more. I think that this is a series best read in one sitting and totally recommend buying the box set on Amazon; trust me, once you start you won't want to put it down.
